Pacing his fence
Counting off pedestrians
Bark by bark.
A snow path in the yard
Mapping out
His daily activities.
It's a dog's life.
Squirrel tracks on the roof
Tightrope walking acrobat
Flying across phone wires
Sending messages
In their chatter
As they scurry in their busy lives.
Cats lazing in the sun
They know the best way
To spend a sunny Saturday.
