Clipping a weed here
Trimming a vine there
A haircut for the garden.
Wild ferns falling
Like dreadlocks.
A buzz cut for the bee balm.
A perm for formal hybrids
A precision cut
For an avaunt gard garden.
The garden hardly needs
My makeover
But it makes me feel better.

Rain washes away the residue
Cleans the streets
And collects the trash.
Rain sings a song of calm and clean
Fresh and new
Begin again.
Rain starts and stops
Never ending
Ever remembering.
Rain strips away the facade
And leaves us in wonder
At the rainbow.

Gather Ye rosebuds while ye May...
I have to start appreciating
The beautiful garden that greets me
Every morning at my back door.
Rather than closing my  mind and rushing past
Thinking that if I don't notice
It will make the blooms last longer
And not fade away.

Thursday
Rain Rain go away
Or on second thought
Go ahead
And stay away for the weekend!

How does the rose know when to bloom?
How does the 4 AM bird know when to sing?
How does the rain know it's the weekend?
How do the clouds know we miss the sun?
How do we know when it's June
If May is like this?

Room temperature day
Soft fan of a breeze
Sun lamp of the sky
Air conditioner of the shade
A perfect day
