Happy birthday Xiao Liwu
This little Panda was born when we were in San Diego last year.
We've enjoyed watching him grow on up Pandacam.

Cloying heat
Like syrup
Sticking to the body
Hot enough
To melt butter
Air thick enough
To slice
Like pancakes!

She says she still feels
Like 17
Behind the wrinkles
And fading eyes.
Still acts like 17
Though exercising
At a slower pace.
Still hopes and dreams
Sighs and loves
Like we can only hope.
Still the same self
The same soul
Only older.

2 Years After

Obviously some one's been here before me
In this same Doctor's office
This same brown chair
Waiting for the news
That could change their life.
Holding their breath
Life on pause
Waiting for those three little words
"It looks good."

Exhale
All the pent up anxiety
All the negative  thoughts
Scuttling back to their corners
To try to scare those still in the dark.

The words brings hope
The light banishes fears
The clutch in the belly
Can now be filled with chocolate and pastries
Life is good.

Waiting
Holding your breath
Hoping you can fade
Into the minutes
So time won't notice
That you're waiting

After taming the backyard jungle

A lazy day in the shade

Pretending to be on the beach

The blue of the deck doesn't 

Quite match the water

But the beach umbrella works fine.

The answer my friend
Was blowing in the wind
At Midway Stadium
With Dylan

Sleeping
Half awake
Drifting in and out of dreams
Floating just beneath the surface
Struggling against the undertow
Rising to catch air
And breathe in the new day

Bringing a taste of Hawaii home
A day at the beach
A fruity beverage
A gentle breeze
A kiss at sunset
Can make any place Paradise

With Hawaii
Anytime

Return Flight

Home from
Gives home
A reason to beckon.
Returning leaves
The light on for you.
The warm glow
