The window cracks-

Mass with our buddies
Colors and costumes
Time to unwind!

From the grey clouds
To the tops of leaden branches
From silvery wires heavy with snow
To already slushy street
It's a gloomy Sunday.

Cabin fever
Or a real fever
Hard to tell during a cold snap
In flu season.

Cold winds outside
Makes us appreciate
The warm embrace
Of our home
And loved ones.

Before I drown.
Pulled under
And slapped by surf.
I need a life jacket.
To  rise above
To be buoyed by blessings.

Looking at the familiar
In a new way
Seeing the day
Through fresh eyes
A vacation for the mind.

Fear of chaos
Out of control
The look of terror
In a child's eye
Trying to scream the demons out
Trying to wrestle back
A sense of self.

My panda makes me laugh.
San Diego memories
Come alive on Pandacam.
As he lounges in the sun
Or climbs the branches-
The spirit of joy
In black and white.

Hawaii Dreams

The warm sun
Belies the winter chill
Outside my window.
Safe and warm inside
Pretending the snow
Is a white sand beach.

Ancestors' dreams
Through time
Transformed
Standing on a distant shore
Peering into the unknown
With grace
And genes
To touch the future.

Tears hallowing out the heart.
Saltwater dissolving hurt
And smoothing out the rough edges,
Creating new paths
And carving out fresh spaces
To fill with love again.

The end of an era...Miss you auntie Bea

Bea A. Bohman

(nee Broneak)

Age 87 of Shoreview, went home to God on 1/8/13.  Bea was forever young and filled every life she touched with joy and love.  He life was founded upon the four principles of faith, family, friends and music.  She was preceded in death by husband, Jack; 3 sisters and a brother.  Survived by children, Casey (Tracy), Chris (Vic) Stucynski, Kevin (Debra) and Jerry (Janet); 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary (Dick) Oberle, Joe (Cindy) and Richard (Luanne); many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Saturday, 1/12/13 at St. Odilia Church, 3495 Victoria St. N, Shoreview with visitation from 4 – 8 pm Friday, 1/11/13 at Mueller Lake Mortuary, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake and 1 hour prior to Mass at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the “Bea A. Bohman Memorial Fund.”  Mueller Lake Mortuary.
